Western Bracelets

Western or Southwestern bracelets are almost always made in a solid-piece construction, such as a cuff or bangle. A cuff bracelet is usually rather wide, and shaped like the letter C. The opening on the piece allows it to be easily put on and adjusted for size and comfort. Bangle bracelets are typically thin and circular, and often worn in multiples. Bangles are made large enough to fit over the wearer’s hand, but not so large as to slip off while being worn.

Stretch bracelets are another style that has become popular in recent years. These are made with multiple pieces of metal (sometimes wood or stiffened leather are used as well), and connected with hidden pieces of elastic that encircle the wrist. The bracelet can stretch to be put on, and fits snugly on the wrist.

Silver is highly associated with Western style. Silver was abundant in the American Southwest, so it was the logical choice for adornments, and that association has stuck. Silver also is a perfect neutral accent, blending in with any other colors it’s paired with, adding sparkle and shine while allowing the other materials to take center stage. Western jewelry is also available in gold and copper tones, as well as even more precious metals such as platinum, but silver is the, ahem, gold standard. Skilled silversmiths all over the country specialize in Western styles and construction.

While some bracelets and other jewelry may be made strictly of precious metals, gems and stones are often a part of these items as well. Turquoise is common, for the same reason as silver – it was abundant in the Southwest. It is also an example of a striking and unique color, with distinctive markings on each stone. Every piece of turquoise is unique, which is a highly prized attribute to many who choose it. Other gems and stones are also used, from simple polished quartz to freshwater pearls, and even including precious stones such as rubies and sapphires.

The most distinctive part of a piece of Western jewelry is its use of motifs. The cowboy scenes depicted on bracelets, pendants, buckles, and other jewelry are instantly recognizable, and beloved by fans. Animals such as horses and eagles are very popular, as are symbols and wording associated with religious beliefs, especially Christianity, and patriotic sentiment. Another type of motif that is commonly used are stylized shapes and designs. Hearts, horseshoes, clovers, flowers, and simple swirling designs are all familiar motif designs in this style of jewelry.

Have A Good Hair Day In Salons

If you’re looking to save money though, there are still some pretty good salons that are affordable. Thankfully, you don’t have to drive or walk all over the city to find your ideal hair stylist or colorist because an online resource can provide you with locations and a menu of services for every salon and even massage centers. An online resource will also carry reviews from actual clients, which you can use to determine your final choices.

List all the services you need and want to try out. Will you want regular haircuts along with a manicure and pedicure? Do you want to get a blowout every month or so? Are you looking to get a new color for your hair? Taking notes of your hair maintenance and pampering will determine which salons you’re likely to try out and, eventually, book with regularly.

Ideally, you’d want to get all your styling and pampering done in one place. But sometimes one salon has a better manicurist while another has a genius hairstylist. Don’t feel beholden to just one salon but do establish a good relationship with your hair stylist, colorist, masseuse, and manicurist. This is so you’ll still have access to their impeccable service even when they move to other salons.

Visit beauty salons and go to boast of sumptuous interiors, a tantalizing array of services designed for your hair and your skin, and talented stylists who are considered miracle workers. Look at several options and consider your choices well and your preferences at well. Once you do that, you can say goodbye to bad hair days permanently.

Nail Art

The art of fashion involves the use of exotic apparels, ornaments as well as nail decoration. Nail painting actually dates back to ancient times of using natural substances like the juice from trees, gum Arabic, bees wax, and gelatin. They were used to make lacquers and varnishes for nail paints.

Today, nail decoration has become sophisticated among women as there are many styles to choose from. Nail art now comes with added quality, beautiful colours and finish because you can find various nail products on the market which can make nails beautiful and colorful.

Typically, nail paints come with flashy and sleek shades and they are usually characterized by various embellishments and textures. In the present fashion craze and cosmetology, you can find a wide variety of creative and artistic nail accessories which include simple dots, funky stickers, geometric patterns, tattoos, stencil art, abstracts, French manicure, Swarovski and portraits.

Your nail technician can help you to get attractive nail designs like polish, acrylic, and French manicure. With various designs and patterns to choose from, you can add more glamour to your look. If you like, you can make use of assorted nail decorations for an extra appeal to the nails. These assorted nail decorations include colored glitters, acrylic, gels, 3D nails, airbrushed, water marbling, nail stickers, crushed shells, nail jewelry, rhinestones and stencils.

Here are some of common nail accessories on the market, which most women love to use for nail decoration:

Stickers: in order to use them, you just have to remove the stickers and then fix them securely on your nails.

Stars and Dots: they are very beautiful and attractive. These accessories can be found in form of either polish or stickers.

Stripes: gently peel off the covering of the stripes and then fix the stripes on the nails.

Water Marbling: This happens to be one of the most widely used nail arts in the fashion world. This art is done by adding a small measure of paint of your favourite colour to some water in a cup or a small bowl so as to make a marble design with a pin or toothpick. Afterwards, dip your nails into the coloured water and then remove them few minutes later. Clean the excess polish from the nails.

Christian Louboutin Shoes

Louboutin is changing the way many of these design houses are marketing their merchandise going forward. For years he has minimized the quantity of production associated with some of the trendy styles, and even some of the classic designs, creating a higher demand. This maneuver also supports an environment of exclusivity for his designs. This is the primary reason why the styles sell-out so rapidly. He will later revisit the design, and regain a market for them. It is not only smart, but works like a charm!!

During the ensuing years, Louboutin had disassociated himself from the women’s shoe industry and pursued a career in landscape gardening. This was a short-lived hiatus from his passion, and by 1991 he opened his first shoe store in Paris. It didn’t take long before complimentary remarks from European dignitaries propelled his business to the top of the latter in the fashion world. In 2008 Christian Louboutin secured the “red bottom” trademark in the USA. The brand sky-rocketed almost immediately, as word of his history of crafting shoes for British royalty went viral. Eventually American “media royalty”, helped turn Louboutin gold into platinum, following an early 2008 “Oprah” show appearance. After countless industry accolades and celebrity endorsements worldwide, extraordinary success loomed evident.

Louboutin’s approach to exclusivity not only impacts the styles but includes sizing and also his price points. The phrase toe-cleavage has become synonymous with many styles in his powerful arsenal of pumps. Creating this effect meant lowering the “vamp” (that part of the upper which covers the toes to the lower ankle) exposing the divisions between the toes. Subsequently, the design eliminates women with bunions (swelling of the first joint of big toe) or those with wide metatarsal bones (referred to as ball of the foot) from finding comfort with these designs. Moreover those with naturally chubby toes, attempting to wear these styles, may appear as though the shoe is to narrow and squeezing the foot together. This is not a stylish look. Women with narrow to medium size feet will enhance the toe-cleavage effect and have that sexy appearance. Most of the high-heeled platform peep-toe pumps follow this rule.

The desire to own these amazingly distinct designs entices some women to over-size the shoe. Within a very short period of time, (sometimes one or two outings) the shoe will stretch at the wrong pressure positions, and will begin to slip at the heel. Occasionally this problem can be addressed by having “halter pads”, (self adhesive forms placed just below the metatarsal area of the foot) applied to the shoe reducing the slippage. It doesn’t always work yet other options are virtually non-existent. Imagine paying $1500.00, at the medium to lower end of the price points, for a single wearing. To avoid fitting and sizing issues, resulting in pain and loss of capital, don’t ever over-size these shoes. Often you’ll notice women walking in these shoes with their feet pointed outward in opposite directions. Their shoes are not fitting properly, so they compensate by gripping the inside of the shoe with their toes, and “duck walking” to keep the shoes on their feet. This is not a comfortable method of wearing Louboutin shoes. The medium high-heels with closed rounded toe-boxes, will also have a low vamp, but will deliver more long-term comfort and wearability. Several options such as a “Maryjane” design, with a strap across the instep (upper middle arched area of the foot) may fit more securely and comfortably.

Platforms will level out the heels, in terms of reducing the foot’s pitch, but without a true fit your comfort level is diminished. Initially these shoes may fit snug and sometimes a bit cramped. The shoe will definitely stretch, even after the first wearing, adding more comfort. However, if they give you any real pain, don’t purchase that shoe. The shoes that are painful from the start, will never provide the comfort we all seek in our footwear. Purchase the size that you normally wear, and if the shoe doesn’t fit comfortably, find another style. Louboutin has many styles, shapes and heel sizes. “But that was the style I REALLY wanted”! Well it’s not the correct “last” (the last represents the anatomical shape of the foot) for your feet. The last of each style is different from the next, taking several variables into consideration. Be patient and try several styles to determine which shoe has the best last for you.

Louboutin’s sling-backs are also very beautiful and sexy. They are cut similarly to the pumps therefore the same sizing and fitting issues may apply. Try them on to determine if the strap around the back of your heel fits comfortably. His flat shoes and sandals are always elegant. They are fashion forward and a viable option for those unable to wear the high-heels. So take your time and try as many styles as it takes to find the comfort zone you deserve. Yes, Christian Louboutin shoes are for everyone, but identify the shoes that will provide adequate comfort, complimentary appearance, and that fabulous style.

Choosing Bridesmaid Shoes

Colour

Obviously the colour of the bridesmaids’ shoes will depend of the colour of the dresses. That is not to say they need to match the dress colour but simply to complement it. For a summer wedding, shoes in a lighter tone of the dress work beautifully. Neutral colours like nude, whites and blacks can also be considered. Alternatively for a winter wedding, a darker shade of the dress colour looks more fashion forward than an exact match.

Keeping up with the strong metallic trends of today silver is a colour that will go brilliantly with, and highlight effectively, whatever colour bridesmaids’ dresses are selected. Gold or bronze will also look stunning, will go with any colour bridesmaid dress, and double up as party shoes after the wedding.

Comfort

The next step is to consider how comfortable the shoes are. You may fall in love with some beautiful shoes but it is the bridesmaids who will have to decide whether they will be able to walk and dance in those shoes the whole day long. For someone who has never worn heels before, choosing a day when they could be on their feet for 12 hours is not the ideal first time in heels

Another consideration to keep in mind that everyone’s feet are different and some people find it very difficult to wear uncomfortable shoes for an extended period of time. The bridesmaids’ role is to support the bride on her wedding day. She will not be help if she is hobbling up the aisle.

Dress style

The length of the bridesmaid dress should also determine what type of shoes to choose. Longer bridesmaids’ dresses give more leeway in the type of shoes you choose as they will not be on display all day. However if the dress length is short then the shoes are an essential part of the outfit.

Fabric

The fabric of shoes is another important aspect that you need to consider before buying. Satin shoes work well with shiny fabrics, while crepe shoes would be great for dresses with a matte look.. If you choose a dress which is shiny, choose shoes with diamante or crystals on them. For pearled dresses, beaded shoes will work best.

Where to buy

Online shopping for bridesmaid shoes is a perfect opportunity for the bridesmaids to co-ordinate their shoes without the need to all go shopping together which can be difficult given destination and time constraints..

Rain Ponchos

It is believed that the poncho made its first appearance during a pre-Inca Peruvian culture circa 500 BC. These items were made primarily as protection from cold weather, as time has passed they have grown to be more focused as rain gear that is available on the go. Modern ponchos fold to fit neatly in one’s briefcase or handbag. Ponchos are also excellent travel companions, to be taken with you when frequenting rainy environments. Most ponchos are made of polyester and nylon, or waterproof polyurethane. The waterproof poncho is ideal for attending outdoor events such as concerts or professional sporting games. They make a great accessory for the weekend golfer who does not let the elements slow them down.

Ponchos that are large have been used as spreads on the ground at camping or picnic events. In certain cases they have been used to cover the picnic tables at national parks and recreation areas. One of the main pieces of gear carried by the military is a waterproof poncho, quite functional when hiking through many a mountainous and rough terrain. These pieces of equipment are great for substituting for wind breakers making it easier to carry less equipment because of their versatility. If you’ve ever been to Mexico you will have seen these garments adorning some of the locals. Made of lamb’s wool and other fabrics these multicolored garments drape nicely over the individual to make a lovely fashionable piece of outerwear that can suit multiple needs and fashion choices. These items can be incorporated into one’s fashion ensemble and provide an excellent choice for casual business attire. So you can see that although largely seen as rain gear these items can have a multiplicity of uses in today’s modern fashion environment.

Office Party Fashion

  1. Be classy, not tacky. First thing’s first: wear for the occasion. Do not underdress nor overdress. It pays to remember that you are attending an office party with your corporate colleagues and not a sorority soiree with college girls in bunny outfits. Select from a decent line of party dresses that are not too revealing and will give you necessary coverage.
  2. Don’t be the mascot. We know it’s the holidays and you want to look and feel festive but you don’t necessarily have to go way overboard just to express it. As much as possible, avoid holiday dresses that are excessively done with too much Christmas frills. You don’t want to look like a disco ball or a Lady Gaga minion.
  3. Be fabric conscious. Getting the right fabric down pat will mean a worry-free night of partying. Get accustomed with fabrics that will accentuate your body’s features and not highlight the flaws. Silk isn’t exactly the most figure-flattering material. Avoid sheer party dresses that expose the wrong areas.
  4. Make the cut. There’s probably going to be a lot of grub and booze at the office party. You’re going to want to eat, but you’re not going to like it when your tummy comes out to say hello. Choose party dresses with waistlines at length with your belly button. And if you’re busty, choose a scoop-neck type of dress that give the illusion of a smaller chest and at the same time shows no cleavage.
  5. Wear comfort on your feet. Remember: good shoes can take you places. In this case it will help you survive good parties for hours on end. High heels will mostly likely be your go-to footwear, but make sure they’re comfortable enough as you will probably spend most of the time standing up talking to people or rocking on the dance floor.

Personalised Gifts and Belts

That is why personalised belts are such a great gift. If you are the kind of person that wears a belt, then a personalised one would be perfect. You are sure to get plenty of use out of a belt, and one with a personalised message is sure to mean a whole lot more to you.

Personalised belts usually come with a choice of buckle, and an inscription on the inside of the belt, invisible to others but the wearer knows it is there. This is great for all, as you can have a personal present that does not compromise your sense of style.

When getting someone a personalised belt, it is important that the message is spot on, anything generic will not do. You have decided to take the plunge and include something meaningful; therefore, you care about the person enough to give them something special. Don’t waste it, be creative, remind them of a particular event, tell them how much they mean to you, do whatever you like, so long as it is memorable.

If you are getting a personalised gift, then the message must always be relevant. Get personalised gifts that you know that person will get a lot of use out of, so that they can be reminded of you many times. Personalised belts are a great example of this, as belts are practical and often used very frequently, so you can be sure that they will see your message many times.

Personalised gifts are a great choice for anybody, and if the message you include is personal enough, then there is no reason why they shouldn’t like your gift, it really is the thought that counts, and putting enough thought into a proper message can mean that your gift will be much appreciated.

Guide To Luxury Watches

Some well-known brands are considered the best due to intense advertising, so they raised the bar pretty high for their competition.

If you’re thinking about starting a watch collection, or just get a truly remarkable timepiece for yourself or as a gift to someone close to you, keep on reading since there are a few things to learn in order to become a watch connoisseur.

When you’re done with this guide, then the real research work starts since you’ll need to figure out what type of watch you want and what sort of features it should carry, so it best complements who you are and your looks.

Timepieces can be categorized by many things, starting from their unique designs, the dial shape and the watch crystal to the way they work and the features they provide. Another factor to take into account would be their popularity.

Brands popularity indicates superiority among the major competitors in the watch market.

Due to advertising and media, most people know of only overly advertised brands as the best of the best when it comes to watches. They are totally oblivious to the fact that other top brands exist which produce equal if not superior watches when compared to the ones they know of.

The average individual can recognize a few watch brands they they’ve seen over and over advertised on television and in magazines and can recognize them in order of ascending price tag as Timex, Casio, Seiko or Tag watches.

Most people know only of a few brands from the ones that exists, and thanks to media advertising, they might not be aware of truly superior brands that find their way in some peoples collections.

They might not even know what products brands like Alain Silberstein, Audemars Piguet, Blancpain, Chopard, Fortis, Franck Mueller, IWC, Jaeger-Le Coultre, Patek Phillipe, and Ulysse Nardin actually make if you were not to tell them.

Top brands like Sony or Bose are known globally and that’s what makes them be at the top of the market choice for average people.

While these brands are known for top quality, they might not always be the best choice.

If you want to impress average people, you will buy brands that are easily recognizable, even for hefty amounts of money and still get a decent watch that keeps time like a 25$ one with no extra features.

Streetwear Styling

It’s getting pretty cold at the moment and with Christmas fast approaching it really is beginning to feel like winter. But you don’t have to let the cold put you off hanging out in the city and there are plenty of great coats and jackets for women that keep that street feel. Parkas are a really cool-looking way to keep out the cold while hitting the skatepark or hanging out with your friends and thankfully there are plenty of fantastic parkas for ladies. Brands like Penfield, Carhartt and Dunderdon all make fantastic women’s parkas that are perfect for hitting the street in.

Carharrt also make some really good urban sweaters that manage to just about walk that fine line of being both cosy and cool. they can be a little bland though so if you’re looking for something a bit more distinctive then Obey have some sweaters that might just be for you. They’re not quite as element-proof as the Carharrt ones so you might been to wear an extra layer if you’re planning on honing your skating skills this winter but they’re a lot cheaper and more diverse so it’s easier to find a design that reflects your attitude.

Of course it won’t be Winter forever and if you’re looking ahead at to wear when the sun finally returns, relax because there are lots of awesome t-shirts and vest tops for next year. Rebel 8, Actual Pain, HUF and Obey all make sweet t-shirts and vests with some really unique designs. Actual Pain are big on attention-grabbing styles with a real voodoo vibe, full of skulls, knives, snakes and other dangerous things. Actual pain sounds about right! If you’re after something a bit less provocative (but no less eye-catching) then Obey, with their anti-authority sloganeering, might just be you.

There are plenty of streetwear inspired trousers for women out there too, with Dr Denim and Carhartt doing some great, simple jeans and leggings. And when it comes to footwear, Vans are still a fantastic option as they provide pretty much any patterns or colours you could possibly want.
